Education

Marshall is a major educational center of eastern Texas.  Marshall has four institutions of higher education within the city limits, including a growing 4 year liberal arts college, the oldest HBCU west of the Mississippi, a public technical college, and a community college branch.

The history behind their prominence in Marshall goes back to the turn of the twentieth century and has resulted in a respected combination of educational opportunities for all citizens.  Marshall has the unique ability to meet the needs of anyone interested in pursuing an education, from undergraduate and graduate programs to technical and vocational programs.  We also meet the needs of our growing employers in the area by aligning workforce curriculum with skills in demand.
