Marshall, TX — The Marshall Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is proud to spotlight Teresa Wright, Assistant to the Executive Director, in recognition of her dedicated service to the organization and the Marshall community.
Since joining MEDC a decade ago, Wright has played an essential role in keeping the office running smoothly. Her day-to-day responsibilities span office coordination, administrative support, and a wide range of behind-the-scenes efforts that ensure the organization operates efficiently and effectively. Known for her reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to step in wherever needed, Wright is often described as the steady heartbeat of the MEDC office.
For Wright, however, the most meaningful part of her work goes beyond tasks and titles.
“My favorite thing about working at Marshall EDC is the people,” Wright shared. “The relationships we build—both within the office and throughout the community—are what make this job so special.”
A fourth-generation Marshall native, Wright’s connection to the city runs deep. She holds the Marshall community close to her heart and takes pride in supporting an organization whose mission directly impacts the place she calls home. Her generational roots give her a unique perspective and genuine passion for the work MEDC does to support local businesses, attract investment, and strengthen the city’s economic future.
Among her favorite memories at MEDC are the moments that bring people together outside of daily work responsibilities. Wright fondly recalls the annual Christmas party shared with the MEDC Board and staff, as well as occasional staff lunches that provide opportunities to connect on a more personal level.
“Those moments allow us to really get to know one another outside of work,” she said. “They remind us that we’re not just coworkers—we’re a team.”
MEDC leadership and staff alike express deep appreciation for Wright’s decade of service and the positive presence she brings to the organization each day.
“Teresa’s dedication, knowledge, and genuine care for this community are invaluable,” said Rush Harris CEcD, Executive Director. “She embodies the spirit of Marshall and the mission of our organization.”
“Teresa is the kind of person who keeps everything—and everyone—connected. Her dedication, kindness, and deep love for Marshall shine through in everything she does. The office truly wouldn’t be the same without her, and we are incredibly grateful for the heart she brings to our team every single day.”- Amber Thibodeaux, Marketing and Communications Associate.
As Marshall EDC looks toward the future, it does so with gratitude for team members like Teresa Wright, whose commitment and heart continue to make a lasting impact on the organization and the community it serves.
