Marshall, Texas – The Marshall Economic Development Corporation (Marshall EDC) is proud to spotlight Board Chairman Colin Brady for his leadership, dedication, and continued commitment to advancing economic growth in Harrison County.

Chairman Brady has been an integral part of Marshall EDC since 2021, when he was nominated to serve as Vice-Chairman. His initial motivation to join the board stemmed from his involvement in planning and zoning, where he developed a deep appreciation for the impactful work of the EDC. One of his favorite aspects of serving on the board is witnessing projects progress from concept to completion and seeing their positive impact on the community.

Since stepping into the role of Chairman, Brady’s perspective has broadened. He notes that while economic development may appear straightforward from the outside, the decision-making process and coordination required behind the scenes are complex and challenging. One of the greatest hurdles, he explains, is aligning multiple government entities and ensuring everyone works toward a shared vision.

“The EDC plays a vital role in Harrison County,” Brady shares. As Chairman, one of his top priorities is laying a strong foundation for the organization’s future. He emphasizes that economic development directly influences the quality of life in communities like Marshall, affecting residents, businesses, and future generations alike.

Brady believes that relatability is one of the most important leadership qualities in his role. Building trust and ensuring that stakeholders remain unified is critical to success. When asked what advice he would offer others interested in serving in a similar capacity, he highlights two key principles: “availability and accountability.”

Looking ahead, Brady is especially encouraged by the renewed energy among local entrepreneurs. He notes a growing sense of excitement and momentum in Marshall, reflecting a community poised for continued progress and opportunity.

Outside of his leadership role, Brady has a passion for riding BMX bikes—a hobby he has enjoyed since childhood and continues to pursue today. In fact, in 2025, he stepped into his role as Chairman with a broken arm sustained from riding. Brady is married to Patti Brady, and together they have three children. He shares that his favorite moments are when the entire family is home together.

Marshall EDC is grateful for Chairman Brady’s steady leadership and vision as the organization continues its mission to strengthen the local economy and enhance quality of life throughout the region.
